Balkan world music is a treasury of untapped potential. Although the region is ripe with talent, funding and international networking channels are often not open for artists outside of the European Union. MOST was created to change this. With the support of Creative Europe, the EU’s cultural framework programme, MOST recruited artists who were already well established in their region, but wanted international success.
We’ve had many success stories throughout the 3 rounds. Many of the MOST artist were selected to play at Europe’s most prestiguous showcases such as WOMEX, Budapets Ritmo, EXIT, Balkan Trafik, PIN, Eurosonic, BALKAN:MOST. etc. In total more than 80 MOST showcase concerts impressed their audience, 40+ videos were shot and more albums were produced in the MOST framework and we also published 3 compilation CDs that were distributed by Songlines and our partners at industy events.
True, unadulterated talent, and gallons of untapped potential, ready for international attention – check out the selection of amazing bands and artists of the Balkan Music Export pillar!
